English version

You are looking for a beach for surfing and relaxation?
Take a look at the Praia da Arrifana!

The Praia da Arrifana is located in the northwest of the Algarve, within the municipality of Aljezur, and is part of the Vicentino Coast Natural Park. It is approximately 500 meters long and is situated at the bottom of a high massif of black shale. Here it is protected from the typical strong northern winds of the Algarve.

Despite its privileged location, there are strong waves at the Praia da Arrifana. However, these make the beach particularly interesting for surfers!

The easiest way to get to the Praia da Arrifana is by car. There are no public parking spaces around the beach. Therefore, park your car in the town Arrifana above and walk down the last few meters.

South of the beach, a huge rock formation sticks out of the sea especially noticeable. Due to its vertical form, the locals call this natural monument „Pedra da Agulha“, the „Needle Stone“.

North of the beach, above Arrifana’s small fishing harbor, is a big rocky plateau. There you will find the last remains of Castle Arrifana. From these, you have a beautiful panoramic view of the beach and the open sea.
