In unmittelbarer Nähe zum Küstenort „Sa Calobra“ versteckt sich eine der spektakulärsten Naturerscheinungen der Baleareninsel Mallorca. Die 3300 Meter lange Felsschlucht des „Torrent de Pareis“. Diese abgeschiedene Naturschönheit ist umgeben von den nördlichen Ausläufern der „Serra de Tramuntana“ und bewahrt bis heute den wilden Charme Mallorcas. Trotz ihrer erschwerten Zugänglichkeit besichtigen jährlich mehrere tausend Besucher diesen einzigartigen Ort.
Schon die Anreise zum „Torrent de Pareis“ ist ein besonderes Erlebnis. Unweit des Speichersees „Gorg Blau“ befindet sich eine unscheinbare Kreuzung der Straßen „MA 10“ und „MA 2141“. Dort folgst Du der Straße „MA 2141“. Nach 7 Kilometern erreichst Du den aufregendsten Teil Deiner Anfahrt. Jetzt beginnt eine 6 Kilometer lange, sehr kurvenreiche Abfahrt in den Küstenort „Sa Calobra“. Diese wenigen Kilometer sind jedoch nicht zu unterschätzen! Die Straße ist teilweise sehr schmal und wird oft von vielen Radsportlern befahren.
Interessant zu wissen: Die Serpentinenstraße hinunter in den Küstenort „Sa Calobra“ wurde vom spanisch-italienischen Ingenieur Antonio Paretti in den 1930er Jahren entworfen und errichtet. Ein weiteres bekanntes Bauprojekt von Antonio Paretti war die Straße von „Port de Pollença“ zum „Cap de Formentor“.

Even the drive to „Torrent de Pareis“ is a great experience. There is an inconspicuous crossing of the roads „MA 10“ and „MA 2141“ not far from the artificial reservoir „Gorg Blau“. However, these few kilometers should not be underestimated! The road is partly pretty narrow and often used by lots of cyclists.
Additional information: The serpentine road down to the coastal town „Sa Calobra“ was designed and built by the Spanish-Italian engineer Antonio Paretti in the 1930s. Another famous building project of Antonio Paretti was the road that runs from „Port de Pollença“ to „Cap de Formentor“.
Nach dieser aufregenden Fahrt erreichst Du „Sa Calobra“. Von jetzt an geht es nur noch zu Fuß weiter. Deinen PKW kannst Du auf einem großen kostenpflichtigen Parkplatz (3,50€ pro Stunde) abstellen.
Alternativ kannst Du auch mit dem Schiff anreisen. Die Fahrt von „Port de Sóller“ nach „Sa Calobra“ kostet 25€ (hin und zurück).
After this thrilling drive you reach „Sa Calobra“. From there, walking is the only option to get around. You can park your car at a large parking lot (fee is currently 3,50 per hour).
Alternatively, you can travel to „Sa Calobra“ by ship. A round-trip from „Port de Sóller“ to „Sa Calobra“ costs 25€.
Von der Uferpromenade in „Sa Calobra“ führt ein breiter gepflasterter Weg entlang der Küste zu einem schmalen Tunnel. Dieser, in den Fels getriebene Tunnel, ist die Verbindung in die Schlucht des „Torrent de Pareis“.
A wide paved path along the coast leads from the promenade in „Sa Calobra“ to a narrow tunnel. This tunnel, which is carved into the rocks, is the connection to the canyon of the „Torrent de Pareis“.
Sobald Du die Schlucht betrittst, erwartet Dich ein beeindruckender Anblick. Schroffe Felsformationen, eine Vielzahl an Pflanzen und eine zum Meer hin offene Badebucht entschädigen Dich für vorherige Anstrengungen.
Once you enter the canyon, an impressive sight reveals itself. Rugged rock formations, a variety of plants and a bathing bay with ocean view compensate for prior efforts.
Je weiter Du in das Innere des „Torrent de Pareis“ vordringst, desto surrealer wird dieser. Bis zu 200 Meter hohe zerklüftete Kalksteinfelswände mit zahlreichen Höhleneingängen überraschen Dich. Unregelmäßige Wasseransammlungen vom letzten Regen häufen sich und bilden spiegelnde Wasseroberflächen im Schotterboden. Besonders markant sind die meterhohen Felsbrocken, die überall im Gelände verteilt liegen.
The further you walk into the canyon of the „Torrent de Pareis“, the more surreal it gets. Up to 200-meter high rugged rock walls of limestone with numerous cave entrances will impress you. Irregular rainwater accumulations become more frequent and form reflecting surfaces in the gravel soil. Very striking are enormous rocks that are spread all over the place.
Nach einigen hundert Metern endet der unebene Schotter und der Weg wird von gewaltigen Felsbrocken versperrt. Ab hier ist das weitere Vorankommen nur noch für geübte Wanderer oder Kletterer möglich.
After several hundred meters the uneven gravel soil ends and an enormous rock blocks the path. From here, only trained hikers or climbers are able to continue the hike.
